The animated nurse confused the easily offended custard, or Roasted chickpeas.

First we rinsed our chickpeas (and patted with a paper towel when we were done):

Then we added 1/2 tablespoon garam masala:

And 1 tablespoon olive oil:

Mixed:

And placed in one layer on a foil-covered baking sheet (and then baked at 425 degrees until crispy--about 37 minutes):

And ate:

The imaginary eyebrow charmed the eavesdropping clown, or Open-ended science.

Yesterday we did open-ended art; today Zachary decided to do the same with science.

Pouring food coloring into a cup of ice chips:

About to put it in the freezer:

Corey with his experiment:

All done:

While waiting on his experiment, Zachary helped Corey with some tracing:

And took this picture because he was "pretending to be a blogger":

After about six bouts with the microwave timer, the experiment is ready:

The flamboyant cranberry swallowed the tortured atheist, or Drawing game.

The churchgoing evildoer teased the friendless egg salad sandwich, or Chocolate-covered blueberries.

So we had half a bag of candy melts, which isn't enough to make cake balls, and not very much patience even if there had been enough chocolate. Instead we made chocolate-covered blueberries.

Melting the chocolate:

Coating the blueberries in aforementioned chocolate:

Admiring the chocolate-covered blueberries:

And eating them:

The craggy wobbegong irritated the forgiving lamster, or Key lime pie fudge.

So we had some key limes left over from when we made key lime pie. I made key lime salad dressing (vinegar-free for my vinegar-phobic husband), but still there were limes. I toyed with the idea of having the kids make me a key lime margarita, with some help from this:

But instead we decided on fudge (original recipe).

First we crushed the graham crackers:

Then we mixed together melted butter and sugar:

And stirred in the crushed graham crackers:

We spread the mixture evenly into a pan:

After baking for about 4 minutes, we let it cool and melted our white chocolate (Lindt) and sweetened condensed milk:

And then added key lime juice and zest:

After we poured the mixture over the graham cracker crust and let it chill for two hours, out came this:

And here are the boys eating 1/32 of it:

And I still have a few limes left over for my margarita.
