Thanks to Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Zachary has been writing in his journal more often. He gave me permission to share his latest entry:
Of course, Corey wanted to do what his big brother was doing, so we picked out a journal just for him. Here is what I found last week:
(Translation: Today I hurt my brother.)
And:
(Translation: Tomorrow I will be nice.)
Today I finally got around to showing him how to use cut-up sentences to help him with his writing (an idea I saw over at A List Maker's Life, via ABC and 123). I had him dictate to me a sentence about his day; he cut up the strip I gave to him into individual words and glued them into his journal in the right order; and then he copied the sentence underneath. Here's what we did tonight:
