The jolly slob pulverized the dangerous oaf, or Open Ended Art: Crayons.

This week's Open Ended Art theme at Teaching My Little Bookworm was Crayons, so the boys used crayons to make their own scratch art.

Zachary started out with this:

The lazy demon knocked down the evil predator, or Homemade magic shell.



Tonight we made magic shell, using this recipe. First we broke up our chocolate:



Then we added coconut oil:



Melted the mixture in the microwave, and stirred (we added some peppermint as well):

It's Kids in the Kitchen day, and today we adapted a recipe we found at Panini Happy.

First we toasted our bread and cheese:

The caramelized pineapple lashed out at the glow-in-the-dark musician, or Unplugged: Pocket.

This week's theme at Unplug Your Kids was Pocket, so the boys and I made pockets in which to exchange notes, short stories and drawings. Here they are testing them out:









So now I have to think of something to put in each pocket before the boys wake up...

The twisted pumpkineer tipped over the adorkable spy, or Open Ended Art: Mixing with yellow.

For this week's Open Ended Art project, Zachary decided to do a science experiment by mixing yellow, blue and red food coloring. Here he is with his concoction, which he named Exploding Tofu Cake:



And in case anyone else wants to make this, here's the recipe:

Mix together water, food coloring, bacon bits, capers, cayenne pepper, salt, 1/2 cup flour and ice, and freeze until impatience sets in. Warn others not to eat it, and promptly dump in sink.
