The vagarious mammothrept halched the erubescent pasquinade, or Green cookies.

We actually made these cranberry pistachio cookies for a piano recital and a Christmas party in December but never got around to posting them. They're green, so I'm posting them today.

Here's Corey:

The cromulent criticaster toozled the alexiteric mistresspiece, or Snow ice cream.

It's our fourth day out of school but the first real snow day. The others were ice days. We can't get down our driveway because of the ice and, apparently,  the only snow plows here are being used for the Super Bowl. We're out of ice cream. We could have made real ice cream, but that takes five hours. So instead we made snow ice cream.

We played while our bowl collected snow:

When the bowl was full we mixed sweetened condensed milk and a teaspoon of vanilla into it, and then we ate:

The jumentous solander fankled the foudroyant squintifego, or Ice cream topping muffin tin.

We did our Muffin Tin Monday a day early (some of us here like to call it Suffin Tin Sunday) because today is Zachary's 8th birthday. I made chocolate ice cream and filled the boys' muffin tins with different toppings. I think they liked it. Corey said, "You're the best mom I've ever had!"

The tins:

(blueberries, pecan chips, homemade cinnamon whipped cream, cut-up peaches, mini chocolate chips, sprinkles)

And the boys:

For the cinnamon whipped cream we mixed 1 pint whipping cream, 3 tbsp white sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon, and 1 tsp vanilla extract in our stand mixer until fluffy and peaks formed.

The multivagant gym suit performed for the voiceless lidge, or Muesli bento.

Zachary went to school yesterday with a muesli bento (and some grapes, grape tomatoes and baby carrots). Milk to add later was in a separate container.

Here's our recipe for muesli, which we don't usually have for lunch, but Zachary had a little trouble getting up, so he got his breakfast for lunch:

3 cups rolled oats
1 cup nuts (we used slivered almonds, and chopped walnuts and cashews)
1/2 cup sesame seeds
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup pepitas
handful of chia seeds
1/2 cup cranberries
1/2 cup raisins
1 cup chopped apricots

Into each serving we usually add honey or maple syrup and fresh fruit.

I'm linking this post up to What's for Lunch Wednesday at What's for Lunch at Our House.

The dishonest love-philter religionized the weepful malingerer, or Whole wheat zucchini muffins with Greek yogurt.

The other day Corey and I made whole wheat zucchini muffins with Greek yogurt. We used a recipe we found at Andrea's Recipes.

Here's Corey making the muffin batter (day 1):

(day 2, after a butter run):

And here he is enjoying the results (day 3):

The churlish quadruplets oppressed the portable wet nurse, or Pecan pie bars.

In honor of Alex's (Father Is Not Concerned's?) birthday, the boys and I made pecan pie bars (recipe: Brown Eyed Baker).

Here they are mixing the flour, butter and brown sugar:

And pressing the mixture into a baking dish:

While the crust was in the oven, they mixed the filling:

We baked it, and then we ate it (with Daddy, of course):

Happy Birthday, Alex!

The swooning monocle tattooed the henpecked nosey-parker, or Red, white and blue strawberries.

Today the boys and I made chocolate-dipped strawberries for Independence Day. Here they are dipping:

And eating:

Thanks to Grin and Bake It and Baking Bites for the idea!

The merdivorous sweetmeat confided in the burly conversationalist, or Thanksgiving.

We spent our Thanksgiving at home this year. Unfortunately, not everyone could make it, so we made them:

They helped us with our caramel pumpkin gingersnap cheesecake:

See?:

Mom and Dad, we miss you and wish you were here. And not just because you would have prevented the glue incident (sorry, no pictures of that). But there are these:

The trembly parasol smacked the faithful countryside, or Muffin Tin Monday.

(apple crisp, milk)

For today's Muffin Tin Monday, the boys and I made an apple crisp, which we adapted from a recipe at Eat My Cake Now.

Here they are mixing the topping (with walnuts instead of almonds):

Zachary poured the topping over the filling:

We baked, and then we ate:
